Icon (CD)

The 18-track Greatest Hits, released by Capitol in 2007, is the one Freddie Jackson anthology to get. If that's unavailable, Icon -- released six years later -- is an adequate substitute. It contains seven of the singer's nine number one R&B singles, including "Nice 'n' Slow," "Jam Tonight," "Rock Me Tonight," and "You Are My Lady." (It's missing 1988's "Hey Lover" and 1991's "Do Me Again.") There are four other cuts, like the number two R&B hit "I Don't Want to Lose Your Love," and not one of them is present without reason. For a release that should be found for well under ten dollars, it's a decent sampler. ~ Andy Kellman, Rovi
