Shows that people around the world have much in common

I bought this book, on sale, to give to my adult daughter next Christmas. Looking through it, I was impressed by the photos of people in their native environments -- homes, markets, restaurants, city streets -- and the accompanying, one-page stories of the people depicted. What struck me most is how the book demonstrates that humans everywhere are alike in so many ways -- but also that every human is unique. The stories focus on human interactions, including ways people make a difference in one another's lives. I'm glad it didn't come wrapped in plastic, as I probably wouldn't have opened it, but instead wrapped it in holiday paper, plastic and all.
