It gives you a good feel for the type of sensors available and you can easily test them with your program. It appears to be made for easy breadboarding so they can easily verify the performance of your program. There's a link to information that can help you determine the pinouts and operation.

Seems like a good set. Perfect for kids who are into ardurino and want to create new projects. It doesn’t come with instructions so you will have to look up how to use each part but other than that it seems great.
