Exploding Kittens: Rage Mode The Most Aggressive and Competitive Version of the Popular Card Game, for 2-5 Players Ages 7+

We have played the original 'Exploding Kittens' for years, so I tried 'Rage Mode' with my kids to see whether the new version added enough to feel fresh. It did.The new cards were an immediate hit. Reverse Attacks keep everyone guessing—think of an evil UNO Reverse—and the Booby Trap card is a particularly good addition. Instead of simply hoping nobody steals a Defuse card from your hand, you can now leave them at risk of drawing a bomb. It gives players a way to fight back and may make everyone hesitate before stealing.The Rage Cat figurine is fun, although the instructions do not clearly explain who begins with it. We had to watch the full online video to learn that it starts with the player to the right of whoever takes the first turn. Thankfully, that confusion did not affect the game itself.After all these years, the core game is still a 5/5. Rage Mode adds enough chaos, strategy, and explosive revenge to keep it feeling fresh.

Easy to pick up and play, like most other expansions, however the addition of cards to really frustrate the other players is a great twist to include. This version seems great to play when combined with other expansions but comes off more of an expansion that does what most people already attempt anyway.
