Disturbed - Believe - Music & Performance - CD

Another by Disturbed though it probably doesn't have the same bite as their first, then again the principle of sequels to Gen X is they almost always suck. This was still right in the heart of Y2K territory but by this time the Y2K generation was mostly grown up and heading for their college years while others were basically in High School by this album's release. It was also around the time Fallout Boy, Avril Lavigne and Simple Plan kicked down the door for the era of Millennial radio music and mixtapes. The hard and heavy and enjoy the moment of heat while it lasts was watered down to angsty teenager not feeling up to it, has to babysit or face losing someone they care about and above all 'has to even if they'd rather have a normal life' and has an all around sucky life, the Harry Potter thing with wall to wall soap opera drama. This album kept those fists pumping in an era of 'poor mes' it says if the bully throws you down, show him the monster he created when you rise up. All of this expressed in 'Prayer' 'Rise' 'Mistress' and 'Devour' as it was also a critical commentary on the society of the 2000s.

I really like this cd it has the heavy sound of the 2000s and some great lyrics. would definitely recommend this for a cd collection
