Derale 15715 Engine Oil Filter Relocation Kit

Saw similar items from different online marketers for Harley Davidson filter relocation kits. They have some as high as $189 dollars due to black powder coat finish. Don't own a show bike so used a product to get a black finish (HyperDip) and was pleased enough with results. HD bikes have the filter in one of the worst possible locations and in order to avoid spilling oil all over the frame you have to get really creative. Saw this as an opportunity to try something out, make yearly oil changes easier and create a sort of oil cooler in the process. Grabbed a mount to get it on to my tube frame, used a single 5/16" bolt with nylon nut and ran hoses along same frame downtube. Raining here but hopefully after a test ride I'll come back and add some thoughts to how this works out. If you're looking for a much less expensive alternative to overpriced HD dealers and aftermarket dealers, this is a go-to item in my opinion. Next year I might pull off the frame part and powder coat it myself (just purchased an Eastman kit) but not displeased with looks as is. Did not use the supplied 1/2" hose barbs or hose, used 3/8" hose and bought some 3/8" hose with 1/2" NPT threads for $15 from another site. Entire installation took an afternoon in the garage but was also doing other work so can't really put an exact time on this project. But any decent mechanic could have this done fairly quickly especially in a car's engine compartment. Overall, very pleased and happy with the results.
