After the loss of his young daughter, a once hard-charging Manhattan ad executive (Will Smith) withdrew into himself, solely communicating through bitter letters he mails to the cosmic forces of love, time, and death. Wanting to move on-with or without him-his business partners (Edward Norton, Kate Winslet, Michael Peña) engage a trio of out-of-work actors (Helen Mirren, Keira Knightley, Jacob Latimore) in a surprising gambit to bring him out of his malaise.
