    good product for safe canning

I have been using this for several years and find if used as directed in low acid tomatoes it works great without bitterness or changing the flavor of the product. In higher acid tomatoes I use 1/2 the amount just for insurance. Watch out ! some old heirlooms are low acid and need either lemon juice or citric acid to be safe and to preserve color and flavor. If you can with a lot of seeds or bits of skin in the jar it may effect flavor and bitterness may be present. Some pesticides and coatings applied to store bought fruits do not easily wash off! Use this product with confidence knowing you are canning safe food to eat and this product has little or no effect on flavor.

    • A. Yes, this is the citric acid you use in bath bombs, fizzies, etc. You can also buy this in bulk, locally in the Twin Cities, at the Wedge Co-op: 26th and Lyndale, though it is a bit spendier there (around $6/pound).

    • A. I'm pretty sure this is the same thing. I am curious too. The link the previous person posted is an awesome blog, she has the best site for things like this. I've wanted to make bathbombs since seeing them on Pinterest and am looking for citric acid local so I can get it now rather than waiting and buying it online.

    • A. I assume so! I haven't made these yet but was also trying to find where to get citric acid, and I found it here. I just read a blog post about making your own bath bombs, and in the pic of ingrediants she used ball citric acid. Here's the link: http://www.onegoodthingbyjillee.com/2012/03/homemade-bath-bombs-for-stressed-moms.html#more-1333 I think pretty much citric acid is citric acid, hope this helps!
