The Under $100 Tech Tinkerer's Classic Console

I actually bought this for the control console. Since it has a bluetooth/USB connectable gamer console, it will work with almost any home gaming system. I have a couple of homebrew systems and it works perfectly, much more satisfying than the collection of various joysticks that I have collected over the years. As to the ATgames system itself, it is very interesting and comes loaded with about 100 arcade games. Some are OK, some are not. However, the system has a "bring your own games" option. It took a couple of days watching Youtube videos to learn the full exploitation of this tool. That being said, my Ultimate Mini now boasts a host of classic arcade games, many of which are still entertaining and playable. While it isn't in the league with modern gamer consoles, the under $100 price point and open software design makes this a good buy for the money.

Mini atgames controllers

The only thing I don't like is you have to unplug the dongle from the tv to turn it completely off. The rest of its great. Quick response from the controller.

Lots of game play for little bucks.

Definitely old school games but very authentic if not the actual code. Confusing directions about how to charge the control deck (with the joystick and buttons.) You use tbe USB port unless you purchased the charging brick. Control deck is well build as are the buttons and joystick. The wirelessly connected disk is called the console because it's where the actual computer is located. If I could purchase over again I'd gotten the unit with a spinner control on the deck but only because my favorite game was originally designed for spinner action. It does work with the joystick though. If you don't want a spinner or two player action this unit if fine. Not even mentioned in the docs, there are ports to the left and right sides you can add flipper buttons to for pinball game style action. Several different models and features exist all the way up to a standing floor model. It will set you back $500 to $600 but and authenic vintage floor model would cost in the thousands. These units can also load additional games and connect via Internet to subscription based game network. Something the vintage models can't do. What's not to like? Is it a powerhouse like modern consoles? No, absolutely not. But that's not the point. It's nostalgia and game play. If you can appreciate or overlook the old school graphics it's the best value out there.
