"I don't need to do this anymore-write down my experiences so I don't forget, but only here within these pages does it seem like I can I hold onto what remains of my humanity." Leyla Cassidy world shatters when her parents die in a car accident in which she is the only survivor. Then she remembers a voice that came to her in the woods, willing her to live and urging her to save her people. Chosen to be the new protector of an alien race by becoming their memory keeper, she is told that she will be welcomed by all. She is not. Someone else wants to be memory keeper and is willing to kill her to get it. Let me take you to an alien world that isn't as alien as you think. A world where the flora and fauna may look exactly like Earth's, but it doesn't act that way. A world where different races live. The Alvuna: small humans with the power to talk to trees. The Meyoc: what they lack in statue they make up in heart. And the Uluran: mystical beings that hold a powerful secret. Can Leyla find out the truth before time...and her life runs out?
