initially when it arrived folded like a blanket, I was a bit taken back as I'd expected it to be rolled up like a carpet. But I followed the easy instructions and found that the folds laid out flat. Once it was on my balcony in the sun, it leveled out nicely. It's stitched together nicely including the edges. It is plastic but looks great and comfortable under bare feet.
