Overall, this is a great travel fishing rod that I can keep in my car trunk thanks to its compact size and high-quality case. The only small drawback is that you need to loosen or unscrew the reel handle quite a bit to fold it down and fit the rod securely into the case.

The best value for the money

Nothing beats the Penn Pursuit IV as far as value for money. If you don't believe me, ask AI 😀. The 5000 size reel is just perfect for fishing the surf, and it comes with the round grip handle, which is much mkre convenient then the standard handle that comes in smaller size reels. Given that I also got it during a Black Friday deal, I can't really complain. And the matching 8 ft rod has great sensitivity and is my go to flounder rod. This combo kit comes at a great pricepoint. In other retailers, the reel only sells for the sane price as this combo kit, so yeah. Can't go wrong with this one. I am sure it will last for a lot of summers to come, just like previous Penn combos I've had.
