Just a mechanic
Initially, I bought this diagnostic tool mainly for changing the oil for my Ford. While providing me with the needed oil reset function, it can detect almost all systems’ fault information. By analyzing diagnostic trouble codes and the live data stream, I can easily know why the warning light comes on. In addition, it is more accurate than the old code reader I have.

Expensive but worth it.
I have an 98 Honda accord that had been giving me serveral issues. After toubleshooting using several references from youtube, I had discover that my problem was a faulted ECU. Sure enough I pulled the unit out. Found that the ECU had water damage. Opened the ECU, both circuit boards showd water damage. I got another ECU from a junk yard. They informed me that the ECU had to be programmed along with the keys to match the car in order for it to work. They suggested using Launch diagnostic tool. I bought the Launch x431 mini pro with free delievery. It got here earlier than it was suppose to which was great. The instructions were some vague. It took me a few minutes to figure out how to register. But once I figured out how and what I needed to do. No problems. Used it on the car, followed the instructions and it was done. I started the car let it warm up. Checked the cars live data. I was real pleased that I had bought the x431. It has many car selections and many tests you can do. Since its bi-diredtional you can activate some systems by selecting them. There are many tests you can do with it. Glad I bought it.

Did the job
Finally, I went with the pros mini. It replaced my 5-year-old code reader. I was very impressed by its capabilities. It had already saved more than it cost during the first month of use. I was not a mechanic, but I found this diagnostic scanner to answer many questions I encountered. This coupled with remote diagnosis, was the best tool for me, and I was fortunate to get this scanner.
