Efficient and adorable! This little Dutch Oven does the job for sourdough bread making. I chose this one because of the cast iron interior, where my other one has the enameled interior. This one will be less prone to thermal shock at the high temperatures needed for sourdough baking. It's just the right size for a boule loaf.

OMG total game changer for sourdough. Great price, very well packed, Makes putting the dough into a hot pan sooooo much easier! The pan color turns darker at high temps but goes back to original hue as it cools. I do put pie weights in the bottom of my cast iron pans when I back bread so the bottom is not too hard. The picture is my first loaf in this pan. it's sourdough croissant - it has shredded frozen butter mixed in. Fantastic pan!

I have two other cast iron bread ovens, both well known brands, and this one is far better than either of those. I wasn't sure at first because it's fairly lightweight compared to the others, but it outperforms both of them. It gets good and steamy and bakes my sourdough bread to perfection. The inside is not enameled and the ridges in the bottom keep the crust from getting too hard. I love it.
