So far so good. Purchased this item for my 7 year olds, who are small for their age. They previously were playing with a little 8in indoor ball, which was perfect for their little hands, light enough for them to throw and bounce around, and soft enough that if they got hit with it they’d be alright. This was an upgrade and I had to ease them into it. This ball was much heavier than what they were used to, but the new hoop was also much higher/bigger, so they really had to practice throwing the bigger ball to a higher target. It didn’t take long. Within a couple days they were like WNBA pros. The width and weight of the ball is no longer scary to them. Could use some more grip, but it’s been manageable, and they don’t complain about it. It might be just the right size for them. This ball is being used outdoors on a concrete driveway. The bounce is perfect.
