the L and R does that refer to my looking at chair L or R or the chair L and R. and the wiring instructions could be larger and have more detail, we got it to work. There is a battery backup? it does fit the big people in the household. It was a gift for one person but everyone sits in it when they are gone. the plush leather is really soft, is that Faux Leather? though I found a tiny snag hole that is not noticeable. it lifts the heaviest person well and the vibration can really be felt.

Easy assembly, the base (pretty heavy), R %26 L arms and the back were in 3 boxes. Very comfortable, plenty of room for person and 2 furr babies. Great as a recliner and perfect for an aging person who has a hard time getting up sometimes. This lift chair is the perfect fit, it's not a wall hugger but about 12 inches out and it fully reclines without hitting the wall. 2 remotes work separately for awesome massage %26 other wotks the up %26 down lift. No searching the remote forever to find the correct button! Pricey shipping but still a good deal after you research the options, I bought 2. Hope this helps someone.
