Going the "Dual Band" way...

Easy install. Had gotten dual band router from Internet provider and wanted to see if this dual band adapter would increase/stabilize my wifi signal to a computer far away from router. I'm not 100% sure if that's been achieved, but for certain it's not worse. Will know more as time passes. This is a total experiment for me for my own reasons, but product works as advertised.

5-GHz channel works great

My desktop PC is located upstairs and usually Ethernet cabled directly to my downstairs Wi-Fi router. I plugged the mini USB wireless adapter into a USB v2 port on my PC and disconnected the Ethernet cable. The adapter worked right away with Windows 10. I tested download speeds and found the 5-GHz channel is awesome and reaches speeds approaching 100-Mbps on my 150-Mbps cable service. The results with the 2.4-GHz channel were disappointing at less than 10-Mbps. I installed the software found on the included mini CD and rebooted, and re-tested download speeds. The 2.4GHz channel remains disappointing. But not a problem for me. A 5-GHz band is always much faster than a 2-GHz band. If your router only offers a 2.4GHz channel then you might end up being disappointed. The 5-GHz channel works really great.
