Pit Boss 100% All-Natural Hardwood Classic Blend BBQ Grilling Pellets, 40 Pound Bag

I ordered a couple bags of these to get delivered to use in a new pellet smoker. This brand gets knocked a lot primarily, I think, because the bags get handled/mishandled so much that the pellets get turned into loose dust which clogs up augers and doesn't burn well. My bags of pellets each arrived in a separate box, and the pellets were in great shape. If you're buying these in a store, inspect the bag to see if the pellets have been pulverized from handling. It's hard to find 40 lb bags for any brand, and Walmart's price on these is great. I will need to try some other brands, but my main criticism of these pellets would be that they don't produce a ton of smoke flavor, even when I put some additional pellets in a smoke tube. This may be more user error than the pellets - but I will be trying some different techniques to see if I can get the smoke flavor to improve.

I was looking for a basic wood combo to smoke bacon in my new pellet smoker. It provided great smoke and for the largest bag I think $15 was a great price. I will easily be able to use it multiple time before having to repurchase
