Best low cost sewing machine

Excellent machine for a beginner to sewing. First, I had a Singer. Immediately started having problems, and pieces of the machine were actually falling off. Returned it when a friend (a very experienced quilter) recommended the Janome brand. Absolutely no complaints about this machine.

I replaced my 35 year old Singer and love this so far. The Singer's are very loud compared to this one is pretty quite. Singer's also have issues with the tensions always needing adjusting so hopefully this one does not. Happy so far!
