Does just what I had hoped.

I've used this all winter to supplement the heat in my house. Assembly wasn't too terrible with the help of my 10 yr old son, although the instructions were lacking to non-existent for how to install the firebox into the mantle... A detail that probably deserves revisiting. As far as looks and function I love it, and having a way to generate heat without electricity. It took far more effort to get a gas line run than to assemble and install, but if you have a good spot for one of these, it's pretty great.
