When the lid is tightened securely the lid is properly oriented for right handers. I believe it is the perfect size when and wherever you travel as it slender shape fits comfortably in your backpack\carryon comfortably. I plan to purchase several more for gifts.

Quality product as always

This was a gift for a friend's birthday for his coffee, and he was very pleased when he got it home and put coffee in it. There were no leaks.. Stanley products are always quality. You just need to be careful putting the lid down into it by letting the steam out first may take a minute or two but then you're all set. There won't be any spouting of liquid coming out. I found this out when I received my stainless steel coffee cup Tumblr when I put the lid on which has a lip that you can open up, I keep that lip part open until I press it down, allowing the steam to go out first, and then I close the little lip lid part. Thumbs up on a great product..
