I Bought this to use during the spring heat in Texas on my farm. Chickens poop attracts a lot of flies and the sun is brutal on the face and neck. This hat came handy when taking care of my farm animals, keeping flies away from my face and the back of the hat has a shade cover to keep sun off my neck. It does get a little hot when the net is down and the sun is beating on you, if you're not standing in shady areas. But it's better than being sweaty and flies trying to ram you in the face. When the sun is goes down, it does get harder to see through the net. But I can roll the netting up and over the hat, to see better and get fresh air, whit no problem.
