Perfect A/C Solution for GARAGE COOLING!!!!!

I needed an air conditioning solution for my 400sf fairly well insulated garage. I live in a townhouse with a home owners association so a window unit was out of the question....I wanted a mini-split but couldn't find a good place to put the outdoor unit. I searched far and wide for a portable solution and found so many products that were a good fit but none that really seemed to be powerful enough to suit my needs. I purchased this unit and waited for the hottest most humid day to start it up. THIS THING DID NOT DISSAPOINT! My HOT garage was nice and cool within an hour! Would buy this again in a heartbeat!! The air that comes out as soon as it turns on is freezing cold! Turned my unbearable space into an area I can spend lots of time on the hottest days!!

The BEST Portable Air Conditioner I Have Ever Used

I had a similar portable AC unit from a different company, but it was a single hose unit and pulled a lot of air from under the doors, and when it couldn't, it created a bit of a vacuum in the room. I actually liked the AC but I needed a dual hose unit. Then I found this Whynter unit. Dual hose, and a bit more powerful in BTUs than the one I had. So I bought it during the Spring so I would have it when the hot weather hit... which it did this week!!! I installed the window panel (very easy to do, though I did have to cut a bit off as the panel is 28" wide and my windows are only 27" wide). After the panel was installed, the dual hose was super easy to connect to the panel... and I mean SUPER EASY. I got the window like I wanted, plugged in the air conditioner, turned it on, and waited to see what it could do. COLD AIR!!!! And it didn't take long either. I am using it to cool my living room and kitchen... which is one big area, and it is doing a great job so far. Because I live in a high humidity area, condensation will form on the unit next to the air opening, but that is natural... it has happened with any air conditioner I have ever used. I simply wipe it away. The air filter is super easy to take out, clean, and reinstall. The control panel buttons and indicators are very well done, as is the temperature read out. Overall, this is a great unit and it's working very well for me. Any issues?? Well... just a couple of pet peeves... there doesn't seem to be a way to "lock" the control panel so that accidental pressings from my kitties can't happen. Also, I do have some issues with the remote control... it works.. but the temperature readings on the remote do not seem to sync up with the AC unit if I change the temperature on the AC unit using the control panel... the temperature on the remote does not want to update. No big deal though... I usually control the unit with the smartphone app, which actually offers more features than the remote control does. One other little pet peeve... the air louver is a single louver design... which is fine, but just doesn't offer the air flow "control" that a dual louver design does. On my other AC, I could position the dual louver so that the air would blow on me as I'm sitting in my recliner. That is because the air blows in front AND BEHIND of the front louver. With a single louver design, you can't get the air flow to blow low enough without almost closing up the entire airflow. Again, these are just pet peeves of mine and in no way take away from the performance of this air conditioner. As the summer progresses, and the temperatures get even hotter, I will see what this Whynter AC can do, and I am hoping that it is able to continue to pump out the great COLD AIR that it is doing now. I highly recommend this unit for anyone looking for a portable AC that is easy to set up and can pump out some great COLD AIR into a good sized room.
