My husband has acid reflux and the 7" matress riser helps raise his head enough to where he doesn't have to use more than one pillow. The incline isn't drastic, and we like that. it does make the bed look a little odd, but we are ok with that. Also, I have had a cold, and the matress helps keep my upper body high enough to where I don't get stuffed up at night.

I'm surprisingly pleased at the number of reasons why I love this mattress elevator. I initially bought it for silent reflux. I'd read some had difficulty adjusting to the new sleeping angle, with temporary pain for a few days. I took to it immediately. In my 60s now, I have multiple spinal / arthritis issues, which, on top of giving me reflux relief, this elevator also has improved. I feel better when I climb out of bed and get a great night's sleep. I was doubtful before the elevator arrived that it would retain its firmness between my mattress and box spring, yet it's still in perfect form. The angle of the bed definitely looked funky, but like anything you stop noticing it after awhile. The way it sprang out of the plastic upon opening the box was a hoot. No odor that I could detect. Another plus is if you read in bed, the angle makes it easier to hold your paper book or eReader. If at night you're often reaching for stuff on your end table, unless you pull the table away from the wall another half-foot, you'll really be stretching. Literally the only negative is I can no longer use my bed to sit on and pull on socks and shoes. With the new angle, I feel like I'll roll off, or my bum hip complains. Otherwise, its been a fantastic multi-medical woes fixer that I now cannot do without. Also, hot tip, if you buy direct from the maker, they offer a no interest payment plan.
