I wanted the metal kaleidoscope that wouldn't fall apart . These are NoT paper or cardboard %26 the colors are bright . They look like the vintage glass one's I had as a kid. Definitely getting more of these . I'm giving them out at Christmas at the free store where I volunteer. I got two in a box.

Lovely classic toy

This is a lovely toy. It is definitely not for a child under the age of 3, unless a parent is actually handling the toy. It is well constructed and not like the kind of flimsy kaleidoscopes I had as a child. It has a large eye hole, and the light enters through a clear glass (?) window. It makes lovely patterns and keeps kids entertained for a long while. I love that this is a low tech toy that is fun, pretty, and engaging. I recommend it for any child 3 .
