As with all microfiber cloths, they are hydrophobic, so they repel water. You can get them soaked, but you have to knead the water into the fabric, but when you get a microfiber cloth, you want a dense one. especially if you want to use it on sensitive surfaces like monitor screens, TV screens, projector lenses, glasses, cellphone screens, etc. These babies are HUGE! I have one on my desk so that I can clean my monitors with it, and also my glasses. They are such good quality it's hard to want to use them for grimy clean ups, but I do have quite the collection of cheap microfiber cloths that I will use for that task until they fall apart. Worth the purchase!

I use the microfiber cloths to clean dishes, clean the counter tops, clean the cupboards and clean the floors. I use a dry cloth first then get it wet. They even fit on my generic swiffer which I can't say for most clothes
