Not as reliable as what I remembered from scouting

There are apparently several different sizes of these types of cups sold. This seems to be the smallest one at less than 3 inches tall. It doesn't seem to reliably stay up and collapses quite easily except for one band that seems to have difficulty doing so. I haven't tried it with water yet because every time I set it down on a counter after opening the cup, it collapses suddenly. Turning the rings a bit seems to help but I'm not confident. I don't think this is quite the same style we used to use as kids. I was really hoping that this would be good in an emergency for day trips but not so sure. It is also not as flat as I had hoped it would be for carrying around either. Not sure this gets the job done well enough. Great idea though.
