Love the style but it is too itchy

I purchased this holiday sweaters online. This cardigan is really fun and cute (I love the dog), but unfortunately it is very itchy. Even with a tee shirt underneath, it was still almost unbearable. It's too bad, because I would have lived to have worn this to an ugly sweater party. It did fit well and i could wear it buttoned up or closed. I'm wearing a size small, and typically am a size 2 to 4. It was a bit pricey for being made of such an itchy material. I wish it were a little bit softer.
