It comes with the only tool needed to put it together. I would advise to keep expectations in line with the price. This isn't a high end piece of furniture. Cushioning is extra firm. It sits very low to the floor. That said, it is perfect for my little grandchildren and tiny dogs🐕

The assembly was not that bad. The only thing I was taken back from is how short it is. However, it's comfortable and I like it comes with cup holders. I would like the side cushions to be permanently placed on the sides instead of falling off or sliding around. I would still recommend it, especially if you have small space to work with.
