the instructions turn into some form of sandskrit right on the paragraph explaining how to record from a cassette to a thumb drive, so I had to read a bunch of reviews to find one explaining it. very simple, 1. do not use a thumb drive larger than 16 gigs. 2. insert cassette, press play on the cassette 3. press erase/record on the mp3 plsyer buttons. I was avoiding this button because I thought it was there to erase the recording, but it's a dual function button. if your thumb drive is empty there's nothing to erase anyway. oh, and I left out the part where you switch the selector know to mp3 first. that's it. the recording sounded exactly like the tape. If I'm not mistaken, the recording actually gets louder if you turn it up louder during playback. so don't crank it or leave it too soft. put it in a closet if you don't want to hear it because you have to let it play back in real time. cool unit to have for that "just in case" life throws at you.

Easy to use. Good quality sound. Converts tapes to mp3 with good quality. I bought another brand before this that was not anywhere near as good as this one.
