All of it works.

I purchased this item a couple of months ago. My daughter wanted a portable player for CDs, thumbs drives, DVDs, and BluRay. It ticks all the boxes. Everything works as listed. The only downside is that the speakers aren't great quality. For personal use, the speakers are plenty loud but they don't have great clarity.

Compact Entertainment!

Compact dvd and blu-ray player for travel or convenience. My spouse likes sitting on her lap and watching movies or shows while we have sports on the main tv. Screen is good size and can use headphones if needed. Happy with it overall. Surprised it comes with a remote!

I love it!

First of all, I want to disclose that I am a Spark Reviewer and I was sent this item specifically to try it out and review it. I am not paid or getting any compensation for my honest review. Today, I'm reviewing the "ONN 11.4 Portable Blu-ray Player". Because I already own a comparable device for the last couple of years, most of my opinions will be based from comparing it to the other device I own from another brand. First of all, the box is about the size of a large shoe box and comes with a carry handle. I suggest keeping the box for storing the player to transport and putting away into a closet but I recommend getting a protective travel bag for it if you'll be traveling with it more often. Either option will help protect it and to keep the accessories together in most situations. Included in the box are The Blu-ray/DVD player, a 6ft AC power adapter, a 5ft DC car a adapter, a remote (with batteries), a "three plug" composite RCA input adapter, and a set of earbuds. The documentation included starts with the easy to read, large print Quick Start Guide on the basics of operating the device. I found that those instructions were enough to just get me started and watching easily. The second was the full instruction manual with fine details on all the functions and menu options in the setup menu. I found this manual easy to read with my glasses on and gave significantly more detailed information on it's proper use. Upon unpacking the device and accessories I could not find any visible defects or damage. All the accessories fit comfortably into their designated plugs. Upon turning it on the first time, I found that it shipped with the battery partially charged which I used to use to explore the setup menu for my favorite settings. I then placed it to fully charge which took about 3 hours. Like any other portable DVD player, I found the controls on the device somewhat awkward however I could still perform all the same basic functions such as play, pause, FF, Rew, etc. Using this remote does feel much more comfortable than other remotes I've used for portable players. Once fully charged, I put in one of the longest movies I own to let it play on battery power alone and it did carry thru the full feature for about 140 minutes and the power indicator turned red for "low power"when I was almost done watching all the special feature videos. I was fully able to enjoy about 200 minutes of the entire movie and all the special features and still had a little power when I recharged it again. Getting the 3 hours of play time is absolutely possible when on this brand new battery. I can't speak for how the battery will perform over time. I then went ahead and tested both the composite video cables and HDMI on my main TV and both performed well. The earbuds worked well even though they appeared low quality. I still preferred the sound quality when using my own buds. When I plugged the device into my home network LAN, it did connect to my router automatically. However, I have only a few Blu-rays and I don't have any disks with BDLive function to test it with so I can't confirm it's connectivity to BDLive. It worked perfectly fine with CD's, DVD's, and BluRay. It also worked well with my old home movies on CDR and DVDR. I also have several files kept on USB flashdrives. The manual specifically says that the USB is for storage with BDLive however I was still able to listen to MP3 music and view JPG photos via the USB drive. I have many home videos in various formats that I could not view no matter which formats I tried via USB, but the same files played fine via disk. From USB, some played video with no sound or sound with no video. None played sound and video together. The manual doesn't say that the USB could be used this way but it did play music and showed photos just the same. All the disks I tried worked fine in all the common formats I used. And in all my testing, I did notice that the device did warm up but it still didn't get as hot as my old device. This device is more comfortable on my lap when it warms up than my old one. It's larger but lighter than my previous type. I also feel like it didn't make as much noise when a disk spools up. PROs Large 11.4 inch Screen and accepts more formats of disks and different types of data on those disks than my old one. (music, pics, and video) I also appreciate the full function remote a lot. Oddly I like the box it came in. It has a smaller box inside for holding the accessories and still has a nice void that can be used for holding disks while traveling. CONs I would have liked the USB to be more functional. I find it much easier to travel with one USB encoded with 10 movies than to travel with 10 disks but I can live without it. As much as I like that the screen can be turned, this also breaks line of sight with the remote receiver on the main console when it's turned away. I found it impracticable without having a receiver on the monitor so it's was always facing me with the screen. It's just easier to turn the whole device together so the remote receiver is always facing me. Also, considering the effort they put into making it portable and compatible with more TVs, I think they should have included an HDMI cable also to cover it's full functionality while portable. Overall, I found the device well made and effective for my needs. This one is a nice upgrade from my old one with this larger screen on a lighter device that doesn't get as hot. I will be using this much like my old one for outdoor situations like picnics and cookouts as well as for the kids in the backseat while driving on long outings. I feel that this device can also be useful to recruiters and sales people to show demonstration videos or by HR departments to show training videos. This is an ideal aid for situations when hauling a full TV and Blu-ray/DVD player isn't a good option. I can easily recommend this device to my friends and family who are in the market for a portable Blue-Ray/DVD/CD player and it's an excellent gift idea. 5 stars!
