I purchased this item as gift for my grandson. It stated that batteries were included and ready to play right out of the box, however that wasn't the case. Once delivered and was ready to play my son had to go out and purchase batteries for it anyway which I could've included with my original purchase. Grandson enjoyed his gift and loves driving his Monster Jam RC Ice Megalodon Truck.
