I purchase several packages of these knit hats for orphans that are now in Poland from the Ukraine. Our church helps out with all sorts of items for them and has been for a couple of years now. We have a representative that travels to Poland a couple of times a year, but spends most of his time in the U.S. raising funds and picking up products for these kids. I decided to purchase hats this time and found a really good deal on them so I could purchase as lot of them. I think there are a total of 7 orphanages right now. It's so sad to think they the Ukrainian army just goes inside people's home and at gun point pulls men and women out to serve in their army, leaving children to fend for themselves. I have already heard from some that they love the hats and they help keep them warm. Some of the kids were even putting them on their feet to keep warm. I think next time I'll order socks! They also loved them because they were so colorful.
