Tracking pad glitch

Purchased this MacBook Air M1 (2020, Space Gray, 8GB memory, 256 SSD) in mid-September 2025. A great deal at $599. I found Walmart to be the only retailer selling the M1 in new condition; ships directly from Walmart and not by a third-party seller. The good news is that I can confirm the M1 that I received is a legit new factory-sealed device eligible for AppleCare.. The bad news is that it arrived with a tracking pad glitch. Must consider the fact that, while it is a new device, it has been factory sealed and stored for over five years at this point in unknown conditions with no recent quality assurance. So you must consider that. This will my 3rd MacBook so I trust the brand and the M1 appeared in good order so far besides the trackpad issue.. I returned it and purchased a replacement in hopes that the glitch is an anomaly. Will report back. As an aside, I am one of the millions of people who cannot tolerate the newer screens due to vision issues. Fortunately, I was able to tolerate this M1 screen. I tolerate my MacBook Pro 2015 better, but this was manageable. I rated three stars given my good experience with shipping and the otherwise positive attributes of the M1 I received so as not to completely dissuade you from making the purchase. I rarely, if ever, write reviews. But, since I heavily relied upon them in choosing the M1, I thought it only right to share my experience.

Brand New and Battery Is Defective

I love MacBooks in general. This is the third one I have purchased. However, this particular one must have been sitting on a shelf somewhere for a very long time. On day one of opening it, the battery will not charge past one percent and has to be replaced. Truly, when you open the box all excited about having a new computer, it is expected to be in working order. I'm very disappointed this time.

Big fun for wedge design and have a m1 macbook air from Walmart last year which works great. So ordered another one. However, battery is not charging for the new one, and had to return immediately. I guess Walmart may have a big storage in warehouse for a long time. and this long time cause battery broke down.
