The NYT was correct when they reviewed it a long time ago. I have used it ever since. DIES NOT SCRATCH but will remove almost anything, soft, requires minimal dish soap, rinses CLEAN and will not stink. It also outlasts other sponges at least 2-3 times!

I've been using Skura SKRUBBY Sponges for years now and could never imagine using any other sponge! Besides doing a great job, it's all about the smell - there is none! I like them so much, I put a package in each of my adult children's stockings at Christmas and they always look forward to receiving them! I encourage them to purchase their own, but I think they look forward to their “gift” from me each year!
