I have 2 chihuahua boys one is 6 pounds one is 8 pounds. I can fit either one but not both. The strap is comfortable around my neck %26 shoulder, I can move it to have pup rest on my hip or in front depending on what makes him more comfy. It took a minute for either one to feel safe as the bottom is soft, not a hard spot for them to stand. Both of them like the ability to hide when it is windy or cold out OR to poke their head out to see where we are going. In fact I ordered a second one so I can put one boy on each side:) The quality holds up, I just machine wash with no issues. The phone pocket does not work well for my phone - if I bend over my phone falls out - I just don't use that feature and it is all good.
