Works great. My Guinea pigs would always knock over their food dishes and/or use them as litter boxes making cleaning their dishes a gross dish-scraping job. This is nice because the clips hold it in place. They are not using it as a litter box so cleaning it is soooo much easier. The hay bale part is a little small. So I you might need to set up another spot with it in The cage for hay or fill it more than once. For me, the ease of clean up was worth the trade off of filling it more than once a day.
