Beautiful and soft, BUT falls apart!!

When I first received this blanket I was super excited because it was the perfect color and was very soft and beautiful... however, it sheds fibers everywhere. I washed it once, and now I've got fibers falling off everywhere covering my laundry room floor, and some of the tassels on the end have completely come apart. I can also see all of the knots throughout the whole blanket where the yarn was tied together. I'm VERY disappointed and sad about this purchase, because I used birthday money from my sister for this, and now I can't even use it without getting absolutely covered in fibers.
