As an entry level pellet smoker, this one is a excellent choice. The directions were simple to follow with very clear diagrams. Once assembled, I followed the direction for the burn-in and it functioned without a cliche. For my first smoke, I used a beef tri-tip and smoked it like a brisket. To get a good smoke, i let it sit on the smoke setting for the first hour. Then turned it up to 250 for the remainder of the cooking cycle. The tri-tip was done perfect. Hint, place meat on the right side to avoid the heat source. Cleanup was super easy and quick. The only negative thing I would say is how the hopper lid is attached. There are 3 small screws holding it on. To empty the hopper, you have to remove them. I replaced them with thumb screws to make it easier. Other than that, for the money, it is a great deal.
