Wanted to have a multimeter in my car toolbox. This is small, hand sized, and easy to operate. The lighted display is very handy since troubleshooting of the car, or elsewhere, could be in dim lighting or darkness. Not auto-ranging, but not really needed for a tool that sees use maybe twice in 5 years. The batteries are a little difficult to replace. I ended up taking out all backplate screws to get inside to then see that the 1 screw for the battery cover requires prying up and out the cover. Seemed the cover would not rise up until I had it all apart to see how to lever up the cover. It doesn't just lift up straight. Probe wires seem a bit thin, but that's expected with a low-cost multimeter; however, they are thicker than the leads for many cheap units I've bought in the past. Doesn't come with a silicone shock case to protect in case of drop, but that would make the unit larger overall, and it is an emergency tool in my car toolbox, not a device that I use everyday to put a lot of wear on it. The display is very easy to read, even when the backlight is not used. I'll get another to stow with all the other tools out in the garage.
