I almost didn't purchase this set some reviews stated that they were not actually metal weights and that they had problems with the collars always coming loose, well they are actually metal weights and they're evidently not using the right side of the collar with the rubber grommet side facing the weights. This is a great set of weights for the price in my opinion.

The Athletic Works 100lb cast iron set is a great starting point for a home gym. I ordered my set for store pickup. While it was well-boxed, store pickup is likely the safest option to avoid any risk of losing pieces during transit. All items were included and exactly as described. The cast iron plates are coated in thick paint for smooth handling, and the hand-hold cutouts are helpful for gripping the plates for exercises without using the dumbbell bar. Additionally, the spinlock collars rotate smoothly, and the dumbbell bars have no sharp edges or metal spurs. At its current price, the cost averages out to about $10 a month for a year. I highly recommend it as a reasonable investment for a well-equipped home workout.
