vitamin C recommended by Nobel prize winning chemist Linus Pauling, but not more than 2000 milligrams a day. I take 1000 mg a day. I think it sharpens me a bit. I'm 73. My mother lived to 95. Her mother to 91. My father to 85. I take a fair number of vitamins. With any luck, I might have 20 more years, knock on plastic. Vitamin C helps remove some stains from clothing, but test a small unseen section first.

My eye doctor says to take 2000 mg daily of Vitamin C. Because its the best antioxidant. And my eyes need antioxidants to fight the risk of infections. I found these at Walmart, my go to store for just about everything. I bought a large bottle at a reasonable price. I have to take them every day. They are big pills, but they go down ok. Tasteless, and don't dissolve in my mouth.

First I heard of vitamin C being good for bones was in the list of word prompts, but as my age I'll take it if it is true, like the orange flavor but it is not sweet so do not suck on it unless you want to pucker up. Not sure if it has helped to control my appetite but do know when I skip taking it I get more run down, so I know it helps with energy. I also seem to get less ill with I am taking it, so I think it helps with the immune system, but I am no doctor. As for vegans if that your cup of tea have at it. I am a former vegan as it did not work to keep me healthy.
