you need to assemble following the instructions and be patient. It's not something that goes together like a tinker toy but if you take the time and follow the instructions again at state it's worth every penny you pay for it. I bought this for a lady friend assembled it at her house and she's changed her living room room around because this accommodates with that swivel a larger viewing area and she's very happy with it.
