This is really the perfect e-reader, I would warn anyone that just reads books (no comics or manga) that the color screen does make black and white text have less contrast with the backlight off and you might be better off with a classic black and white screen, but if you use it for anything with color it looks great and its a fair tradeoff. Shipping through here was super fast, I got it in 3 days, and it came in perfect condition.

We replaced my daughter's Kindle with this. She has not stopped raving about it! She loves the page turning buttons. And she loves that her books don't disappear (like they did with her Kindle). It's not a leasing service - you buy your books, and you get to keep them! Crazy, huh? But to be upfront, I think Kobo DOES offer a similar service as Kindle, we just choose to purchase our books - that was not an easy option with Kindle.

Terrific open platform reader!

I wish the battery lasted as long as my Kindle did, but it's pretty terrific anyway. I like the fact that I can get free books from my library with much less hassle than on the Kindle. When I learned that Amazon was starting to pick and choose what could be in our books already purchased from them, I moved away from that platform and transferred everything to this reader instead, and I have been very happy. I was not able to get my old Nook books onto it, but that's just because that platform is too locked up and wont allow people to download books purchased there. I am done with B%26N and also Kindle. I like the open platform of the Kobo much better.
