These are very light weight which will be easier for my aging hands to pick up. However, I wouldn't even consider using them on a gas stove. They're so lightweight that I would guess aluminum but the box says stainless steel. As we were putting the handles on we got to the last lid and was one screw short. So overall, I wouldn't buy these as a gift for anyone and I can't wait to see what the dishwasher does to them. Tomato sauce could be interesting as well.

I used one time ad the one with black inside is losing the coating. I nonstick sprayed but would have to scrape to clean throughly. They are so flimsy that I was afraid of handles ( that are installed correctly and tightly) would break off on pan. Hazardous to use!
