My dog (40%23 mix) likes to drink the water as you are pouring it in so I thought he would like this and he really does. I have it set to motion when anyone or my dog walks by then it will trickle the water for him. So far it has been a week since I charged it, it holds a charge! To fill it you can take the top off or slowly pour water in from the top which is what I have been doing. It has only been a week so haven't had to change the filter. Very happy that I bought this!
