Though I have not been able to use these in a travel scenario, I was able to do a dry run. I sorted and organized a drawer of winter knits and was able to do so aptly and gain some space. It is of course not as condensed as vacuum bags. With luggage mass and volume need to have balance. The carriers I use commonly weigh and meter size. I think these compression cubes will do well.

I went to Hawaii for a week and only took my backpack. I used 2 of the smaller cubes and packed all of my clothes. I didn't even wear all of them and I wore something different every day and two outfits on one day. I couldn't believe how much I could fit in these bags. I rolled instead of folded. I sat on them to squeeze all the air out and zip them. It made it so easy to keep things organized. I highly recommend!
