i LIKE MY NEW CAST IRON POT IT IS GREAT FOR COOKING ALMOST ANYTHING THATS NEEDS COOKING , USED IT FOR SOUP ON TOP OF STOVE , USED IT IN OVEN FOR ROST BEEF IT IS MY GO TO POT , AND I LIKE THE GREEN GLAZED FINISH , DID I MENTION THE PRICE, WHATS NOT TO LIKE.

I chose this Dutch oven for bread baking since it has a heatproof knob on the lid. It is so beautiful, and it has performed perfectly for bread baking. There are no plastic parts on it, so I can crank the oven heat up. It is thick, sturdy, cast iron, and, frankly, heavy. This is what you want and expect in a cast-iron Dutch oven, but be aware that it is heavy if lifting is an issue. It's a feature, not a bug, but it is a physical reality that it's a load to be moving in and out of a hot oven. I have also used it to make soup and stew on the stovetop, and it performs very well for that application. It holds the heat, and things won't scorch if you adjust the burner heat correctly. I'm very pleased with this purchase because this Dutch oven does exactly what I want it to do, and it's also very beautiful.
