When I opened the box, I sorted and separated all the pieces. It was well packaged and nothing was damaged. The instructions indicated that it was a two person job, but I was one person short. Upon further reading , I decided that I could handle it by myself. I checked all the hardware and everything was a piece or two over, except for the cam locks. I was missing one. Luckily I had an extra one from an earlier project (never throw away extra pieces of hardware). The instructions were easy to understand ~ no confusing written instructions ~ just very detailed pictures. I was done in under two hours. The stand came with doors that went on either side, but I chose to chose to leave them off. The fireplace was easy to insert into the opening. I wish there was an better way to secure it, maybe some holes on the bottom board in which to set in some pins. But that is the ONLY drawback. It is a lovely piece, easy to put together and compliments the rest of the furniture. And most of all, it is Brandy kitty approved.
