Deco Gear 39" Curved Widescreen Gaming Monitor, 2560x1440 1ms MPRT 165 Hz, 16:9 HDR400 4000:1, HDMI, DisplayPort, Limited Black Edition

Overall I'm very satisfied with this monitor. I was previously using a 46" 1080P 60hz HDTV as a monitor so I wanted something large but with a higher refresh rate. This is one of only a few models that fill this specific niche between a PC monitor and a large HDTV, and it does come with some compromises, understandably so for the very competitive price, but the compromises DecoGear made I think are acceptable for the size of the panel as well as the very welcome 165hz refresh rate. Being a VA type panel the colors and blacks are very good, but where things fall short is motion clarity while gaming, as the panel is being overdriven pretty hard which shows up in the form of ghosting and smearing in high contrast fast paced scenes, even on it's slowest setting. Sometimes in darker scenes it's pretty egregious and borderline unacceptable, but in brighter scenes the motion clarity is surprisingly good and there are times where this monitor can look like displays costing twice or three times as much. It's a pretty mixed bag, but overall I'm happier more often than I'm not with how motion looks. I'm not a huge fan of curved monitors, which is why I'm pretty happy that the curvature of this display is very subtle, and it did not take me long at all to become accustomed to it. The only question is whether it will stand the test of time and be reliable, I've only had the monitor for little over a month so I can't comment on the longevity of it. But going by how little heat the display puts out my initial hopes are high that there isn't too much current being fed to the backlight LEDs. I hadn't heard of DecoGear before, but judging from my experience with this monitor so far, it's clear that they understand how to make a very solid product. I think you'll find it very hard to be disappointed by this display for the price, I find the bang for buck this display delivers incredible.
